Country Singer: Wife Says Craig Strickland Died Of Hypothermia
The country singer who went missing December 27 on a duck hunting trip, is dead. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol Marine Enforcement Division found the 29-year-old's body Monday morning in an area called Bear Creek Cove.
His friend Chase Morland -- with whom he went hunting -- also died. His body was found along with their capsized boat. Craig's wife, Helen says her husband died of hypothermia.
She wrote on Instagram:
“The night of the accident he had fought his way out of the water and up a hill before the stages of hypothermia set in,” “He experienced no pain in his final moments and simply felt like he was falling asleep.”
